Overview

IOM (the International Organisation for Migration) works globally to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people. In Ireland, IOM’s work includes Family Reunification, Counter-Trafficking, Refugee Resettlement in Ireland, and Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration. A Cork-based Outreach Worker maintains IOM's presence in the Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford counties, responsible for monthly clinics in the Direct Provision Centres, and for voluntary return information dissemination in the community.
