Overview

The Cafe came about as the result of a discussion at a Community Safety Forum around 12 years ago. With the support of local agencies, a group of volunteers were trained up by Foróige and the Kerrigan Tyrell Hall offered a space in their newly refurbished kitchen. It was originally hoped that older teens would use the space but it seened to appeal more to a younger age group. Many young people and volunteers have come and gone in that time and currently the group caters for primary school aged Traveller girls. We meet on Fridays 7-8 and activities include arts and crafts, games, cookery, music and dance. In the summer we take a break but plan an outing or sports day for the girls.
