Overview
The City of Cork Male Voice Choir is an amateur choir founded in May 1968. The Choir is renowned for its versatility and dedication to good music and good fun. We currently have 33 members and are looking forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary this year.
Our musical history includes many competitive successes in local and national competitions and we support many Charities in their Fundraising efforts.
As proud ambassadors of Cork and Ireland; we have travelled extensively throughout Europe and the U.S.A. since 1968. The highlights were marching in the St Patricks Day Parade in New York and taking part in "A Night of a Thousand Voices" in the Royal Albert Hall with other leading international choirs.
We were very proud to take part in 'A Nations Voice' with the R.T.E Symphony Orchestra and over 1000 choristers last year to celebrate 1916 in Collins Barracks, Dublin. This was a very historic event and a once in a Lifetime opportunity for our Choir. We also recorded a CD with the RTE Symphony Orchestra which was distributed with the RTE Guide in November 2016.
Along with singing at many Charitable events we also take part in HSE Health Action Zone, Cork Culture Night, the ‘Glow Festival’ and the Cork International Choral Festival. Last year we took part in the Cork Harbour Festival at the very Historic site of Spike Island. We were also very proud to be part of the National Guide Dogs for the Blind 40th Anniversary Celebrations.
We are actively seeking new members.
